Our club was named Lørenskog Idrettsforening when the two clubs Ski & Ball Club Lørenskogkameratene and Solheim Idrettsforening merged 10 December 1948. Solheim IF was the oldest of the two clubs and was founded on April 17, 1929. This date is thus LIF's official founding date. LIF has been a clean football club for many years and is today one of Norway's biggest clubs with about 950 active players.

The club is organized with a board of directors, senior executives and selection. We have an offer for anyone who wants to play football between the ages of 6 to 100 years.

Our A team for men currently plays in the 3rd division and the ladies in the 3rd division.

Our home is located on Rolvsrud. We also use the Hammer field at Lørenskog church.
