Migration and Domestic Work is an interactive resource designed specifically for people migrant domestic workers (TDM) in Argentina, but is also relevant to any TDM Spanish speaking generally. The application provides simple and accessible information for TDM, about their rights and legal protections as well as support networks and contacts available locally. Argentina has adopted the ILO Convention of 2011 on Domestic Workers and the application shows how the protections of the Convention are reflected in national legislation.
 
The application is for individual use, but can also serve as a resource for training and demonstration purposes.

Despite the important contribution they make to our societies, most people migrant domestic workers are not protected by labor laws and are vulnerable to exploitation. Together with the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), the International Federation of Domestic Workers (IDWF), UN Women, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the ILO is working in a number of countries, including Argentina , and "migration corridors" key, where TDM are particularly vulnerable to violations of human rights and labor rights.
 
As more women enter the workforce in Latin America and elsewhere, families are facing difficulties in balancing paid work and housework are increasingly dependent TDM to help. ILO studies show that more than 11 million migrant workers now occupy jobs homecare. Many of these are women in poor countries with few employment opportunities. Today almost one in five domestic workers in the world is a migrant and of these, almost 75% are women.

This application was developed by the Global Programme of Action on Workers and Domestic Workers and their Families (PAM-TDM), a project of the International Labour Organization financed by the European Union, in consultation with the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social security of Argentina, the Union Personal Assistant Houses (UPACP) and TDM groups.

The PAM-TDM seeks to promote human rights and labor rights worldwide TDM to cope with the challenges that make them especially vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. Since 2013, GAP-MDW has conducted research and has initiated pilot projects in ten countries, representing five major migration corridors include: Ukraine-Poland, Lesotho / Zimbabwe and South Africa, Indonesia and Malaysia, Nepal and Lebanon, Paraguay and Argentina.

The specific objectives of the program include:

 - Improve research and practical knowledge on migration and traffic specific to domestic work;
- Strengthening the capacities of policymakers, organizations of workers and employers home and business, to ensure access to decent work TDM and human rights;
- Support for initiatives to build national capacity to promote policies and regulations based on the rights and autonomy of women migrant domestic workers.
