Chewing raw ginger or drinking ginger tea is a common home remedy for nausea suffering, for example, pregnant women. Eating ginger prevents nausea and the urge to vomit, even in the form of sweets or pills.

When it's cold, drinking ginger tea (we can add honey) is a good way to stay warm. It is diaphoretic, which means that it promotes sweating, so it works to warm the body from within.


A study carried out at the University of Georgia (USA) concluded that daily administration of ginger supplements reduces muscle pain induced by exercise. It has also been discovered that ginger reduces the symptoms of dysmenorrhea (severe pain during a menstrual cycle). In another study, 83% of women who took ginger capsules got better symptoms of menstrual pain compared to 47% of those who received a placebo.


Ginger has been used for centuries to reduce inflammation and treat inflammatory conditions. Ginger has also been shown to be a promising remedy in clinical trials to treat the inflammation associated with osteoarthritis.
