The Macrobiotic Diet Recipes app is a basic introductory guide to macrobiotic diet. People choose to follow the macrobiotic diet in order to treat or cure cancer and to treat other health problems as well such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases. A healthy and balance diet as well as lifestyle is important for the prevention of sickness and diseases.

A macrobiotic diet approach eating with a view of achieving balance between the physical body and the spiritual self. The word macrobiotic originates from two Greek words “macro” which means big and “bios” which means life. Therefore, the macrobiotic diet is not only about the food we eat but also on how we live our lives.

To achieve a good balance health requires a harmony of yin and yang. There must be a balance between our inner and outer environment, our physical activities, the cooked and raw food we consume and the amount of plant and meat we take.

The yang end of the food spectrum consists of meat, poultry, eggs, hard dairy food and refined salt. The yin end of the food spectrum consists of soft dairy food, tropical fruits and vegetables, honey and sugar, coffee and other stimulants as well as alcohol.

In the middle or center of these two extremes consists of food that are more balanced and appropriate for daily consumption. These food include whole grains, beans, vegetables, sea vegetables, seeds and nuts as well as locally grown fruits.

There are many studies that have shown that this type of diet can reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and various cancers.

The recipes presented here are great as an introduction to the diet. If you are new to the macrobiotic diet, then this will be an easy reference for starting on this diet.
