नेपाल सरकारको मिति २०७४।१०।१० को निर्णय अनुसार ७ वटा कार्यक्षेत्र समेटने गरी स्थापना भएको प्रदेश नं. १ को सामाजिक विकास मन्त्रालय साविक जिल्ला जनस्वास्थ्य कार्यालय मोरङ, विराटनगरको भवनमा मिति २०७४।११।२ गते स्थापना भर्इ संचालनमा रहेको छ । यस मन्त्रालयको विभागीय मन्त्रीको रुपमा माननीय मन्त्री जिवन घिमिरेले मिति २०७४।११।६ मा पद वहाल गरी कार्य आरम्भ गर्नु भएको छ । नेपाल सरकार मन्त्रीपरिषदको मिति २०७४।१०।१० को निर्णय अनुसार यस मन्त्रालयमा श्रेणी विहिन कर्मचारी बाहेक जम्मा ३० जनाको अस्थायी दरवन्दी स्वीकृत भएको थियो । हाल नेपाल सरकार मन्त्रीपरिषदको मिति २०७५।०२।०६ को निर्णय अनुसार यस मन्त्रालयमा ६८ जनाको दरवन्दी स्वीकृत भर्इ सचिव (रा.प.प्रथम) श्री ज्ञानराज सुवेदीको नेतृत्वमा ७ महाशाखा र १८ शाखा रहेको मन्त्रालयको संगठन संरचना अनुसार कर्मचारीहरु हाजिर भै मन्त्रालयको कार्य संचालन सुचारु भएको छ । प्रदेश सरकार कार्यविभाजन नियमावली २०७४ अनुसार यस मन्त्रालयको ५८ वटा कार्यजिम्मेवारीहरु रहेको छ । यस मन्त्रालयको कार्यक्षेत्र भित्र१४ जिल्ला, १३७ स्थानीय तह (१ महानगरपालिका, २ उप-महानगरपालिका, ४६ नगरपालिका र ८८ गाँउपालिका) रहेका छन ।
