Prof. Dr. Vladimir Martinek is chief physician at the joint center in the Schön Klinik Harthausen in Bad Aibling and consulting physician for knee surgery at the ATOS Clinic Munich. He studied medicine and received his doctorate from the University of Munich and completed his residency training in orthopedics and trauma surgeon at the Hospital for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at the University Hospital Rechts der Isar at the Technical University of Munich. His training took place among others in Switzerland, South Africa and the USA in San Francisco, Boston and Pittsburgh. He completed his habilitation on "Experimental gene therapy of the knee" and received 2014 his professorship at the University of Rostock. Since 2006 he works in his own large group practice in Bad Aibling where he performs specialized in sports medicine and joint surgery and about 800 operations a year. To his therapy range includes sports injuries and joint damage to the knee, shoulder and hip, with the entire operational range of arthroscopy to the endoprosthesis. Since the introduction of the Focus list it is passed among the leading German specialists knee.
