Renju is a two-player strategic board game, based on Gomoku (also known as Five in a Row), that introduces rules that level the playing field for both players. On a 15x15 Go board, Black plays first and alternates moves with White, with the game reach conclusion when either player gets an unbroken row of five stones either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.

In Renju rule, Black is given some restrictions to offset the advantages of going first. Black is not allowed to place a stone that simultaneously creates two Open 3's or two Open 4's. Black is also not allowed to chain more than 5 stones in a row, referred to as an Overline (Six in a Row). White is allowed to do anything, and can win with an Overline due to the disadvantages of being a tempo behind Black.

Have fun!
