Al-Attas Ratib was composed by al-Habib Umar bin Abdurrahman al-Attas and is now around 400 years old. The Ratib meant here comes from words (rattaba) means to arrange or compile. Ratib is something that is organized, organized with neatness. Ratib al-Attas contained remembrance, verses of the Koran and prayers that had been compiled by al-Habib Umar bin Abdul Rahman al-Attas who also read at certain times. The term Ratib is used mostly in the Hadhramaut country in referring to the usually short remembrance of remembrance with few dhikr numbers (like 3, 7, 10, 11 and 40 times).
This Ratib has been widely read in countries like Africa, including Darussalam, Mombassa and South Africa. Also in Britain, Burma (Myanmar), India and Arab countries. In Africa spread by students of al-Habib Ahmad bin Hasan like al-Habib Ahmad Masyhur al-Haddad and others. In India, Cambodia and Burma by al-Habib Abdullah bin Alawi al-Attas. So that now the groups of ratib al-Habib Umar or Zawiyah are still practiced in Rangoon and in several areas in Burma. But they are more famous there with Tariqah al-Attasiyah
