INTRODUCTION: For pedagogical reasons, in order to illustrate the theoretical study of the commentary, we will associate it with a practical exercise of commentary.
Consider the following text: "The process implemented in the formalization with a philosophy rich in content is nothing other than learning. Philosophy must necessarily be taught and learned as well as any other science. The unfortunate Pruritus which incites to educate for the act of thinking by oneself and producing one's own rejected in the order of this truth as if when I learn what the substance, the cause or whatever it is I did not think myself as if I myself did not produce these determinations in my thought and if they were thrown into them like stones! As if still when I discern their truth, I did not myself acquire this discernment, I did not myself convince myself of these truths! As if, once I do not know Pythagoras' theorem and its proof well, I do not know this proposition myself and prove it to myself! As much as philosophical study is in and for oneself a personal activity, so much is it an apprenticeship. Learning a science already existing, formed [....]
The original presentation, peculiar to youth as essential objects, is, for the most part, quite indigent and empty, and, on the other hand, in its infinitely greater part, it is only opinion, illusion, half-thought. lame and indeterminate. Thanks to learning, the truth comes to take the place of this thought which is deluded "HEGEL.
We retain in the text commentary practice four main steps
STEP 1: READ THE TEXT AND DECIDE THE ORDER OF IDEAS.
After having carefully read and reread the text, note in the draft his main articulations and the central thesis he exposes.
Statement of a thesis: there is no real knowledge of a philosophy without a real work of learning, without effort to learn its content.
Statement of an opposite thesis: to philosophize is to think for oneself what seems to disqualify any learning of philosophy.
Explanation of the thesis: to learn a philosophy (or a science) is to form one's own thought, to think for oneself. Hegel illustrates this explanation by two examples: the knowledge of the determined "philosophical" concepts as well as the knowledge of what melts, really enriches my own thought.
A mathematical demonstration of the way, forms the personal thought of the one who really understands it.
Consequences: a thought that has not yet been informed like that of youth is:
Either the content;
Be without philosophical value (because made of opinions or illusion).
Central thesis: to learn philosophies to learn to philosophize.
