The research group Structural Mechanics & Building Materials (TC Construction, KU Leuven) strongly invests in education and science communication. This is beautifully demonstrated by the Vibration Inspector that aims at making the wonderful world of ‘Dynamics of Structures’ accessible to a wide audience. To do so, the Vibration Inspector offers user-friendly vibration measurements and analyses.

The Vibration Inspector consists of a mobile app and a web platform:

· The Vibration Inspector mobile app can be downloaded for free in the Google Play Store. One or more measurements can be allocated to the same project, e.g. the Millennium Footbridge. Once you are a registered user, you can upload your measurements/projects onto our database, making the corresponding data either public or private. We recommend you to share your data publicly, such that also other people can learn from your vibration inspections. Once the upload is completed, your projects are immediately available to you online. However, the content of your project/measurement has to be verified before it is also publicly available (this can take some time).

· The Vibration Inspector website is specifically designed to view and analyze the publically available projects/measurements. In addition, registered users can edit and manage their own projects/measurements.

The full user manual of the Vibration Inspector can be downloaded on our website.
