WHAT IS ALTER ECO?

Alter Eco is a European program of the Interreg MED program, led by the Valencian Institute of Building (IVE), on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory, which aims to strengthen the sustainable local development of tourism, promoting the Mediterranean Identity through the implementation of alternative tourism strategies in 6 pilots co-designed and implemented by public and private actors
 
The aim of the Alter Eco project is to find a balance between tourism activity, as one of the main economic sources, and the conservation of the classic Mediterranean city model as an example of economic, environmental and social sustainability by reducing the ecological footprint of tourism. To do this, it is proposed to develop alternative sustainable tourism strategies that will respond to the problems identified in each of the regions participating in the project.
 
WHAT IS THE GANDÍA TOUR & PLAY?

Within the framework of this project, the Gandia Tour & Play application has been developed, which applies gamification and augmented reality techniques to guide the visitor in 3 areas of Gandia: the beach, the historic center and the natural environment, as well as its festivities, with the aim of boosting tourism activity in these areas.
 
The app geolocates the resources and infrastructures in the areas to provoke, through game dynamics, the visitors to know them. The tourist goes through a series of locations where he must fulfill certain missions. Thanks to the 3D map you can guide yourself and locate the missions spread around the place to visit.

COMPLETE GUIDE

• Location of tourist points of interest on the map: interpretation centers, palaces, monuments, etc.

• Incorporation of information associated with these resources: texts, photos, videos, 360 photos, links, ratings, etc.

• Possibility of sharing that information in social networks.

EVENTS CALENDAR

• Integrated agenda with all the information of Gandía and interesting events geotagged on the map.

GAME MODE

• Points of interest are associated with missions, to encourage the user's interaction with the environment, such as augmented reality games.

• When completing the missions you get points that allow you to go up in order to be at the top of the classification.

• In addition, trophies (virtual) and gifts (physical) can be obtained

• Through different routes, the tourist visits a series of predefined locations, where he must fulfill certain missions. They can only be fulfilled if you are physically in the place.

• Thanks to 2D and 3D maps you can guide and locate the missions spread around the area to visit. These can be located in places of interest and / or sponsored points with all kinds of associated multimedia information.
