Studies in Security and Defense magazine is a publication open to discussion and dissemination of theoretical work and practical research in the area of national security and defense. As such, the magazine constantly interacts with academic, national and international institutions, who see our publication the possibility of disseminating the results of projects and activities developed by research teams. Likewise, it has positioned itself as a must for those who want to delve into issues of national and international interest of political and military nature.

Studies in Security and Defense, in an effort to consolidate the scientific and academic quality, recepciona, evaluates and publishes articles in three (03) categories, as defined by Colciencias (2013):

1. Original scientific article: Full document that presents in detail the original results from research projects and / or completed technological development. This usually occurs within its structure the following parts: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions, Discussion, Acknowledgments and References.

2. Reflection article: Original document that presents research results from an analytical, interpretative and critical perspective of the author on a specific topic, using original sources.

3. Review article: document result of research in which it is organized, analyzed and the results published or unpublished research about a field of science or technology, in order to account for the progress and development trends are integrated.

All articles published in the journal must be original and unpublished and must not be nominated for simultaneous publication in other journals or publishing organs. The journal reserves the copyright and as such, reproduction of documents in other print and / or electronic must be approved by the Editor and must include the notation "is published with the permission of the journal Studies in Security and Defense" .
