Ratib Al-Haddad took the name of his compiler, Imam Abdullah bin Alawi Al-Haddad, a famous Islamic reformer (mujaddid). From his prayers and remembrances written by him, Ratib Al-Haddad was the most famous and famous. Ratib who has the title Al-Ratib Al-Syahir (The Famous Ratib) was compiled based on inspiration, on the night of Lailatul Qadar 27 Ramadhan 1071 Hijriyah (May 26, 1661 AD).

This Ratib was prepared to fulfill the request of one of his students, ir Amir from the Bani Sa'd family who lived in a village in Shibam, Hadhramaut. Purpose ir Amir made the request was to hold a wirid and remembrance for the practice of the villagers so that they could defend and save themselves rather than the heresy which was engulfing Hadhramaut at that time.

The first time this Ratib was read was in the village ‘Amir himself, namely in the city of Shibam after obtaining permission and diploma rather than Al-Imam Abdullah Al-Haddad himself. After that the Ratib was read at Al-Imam Al-Haddad Mosque in Al-Hawi, Tarim in 1072 Hijri (1661 AD). In his habit the ratib was read in congregation with prayer and his life after Isha prayer. In the month of Ramadan he reads before the Isha prayer 'to avoid the narrow time to perform Tarwih prayers.
