The need arose as there was no elected body in Delhi in the Years 1986 onwards. Therefore there was no Public representative. As a result of this the Officers and the Bureaucrats were having Free Hand. They were not listening to the plights of the General Public. The developmental work was virtually at stand still. In order to make them accountable and make them listen to the ‘Public Grievances’ this Apex body was constituted, which had considerable say vis a vis RWAs.

How it works?
Federation usually takes up those matters with the competent authorities, which affect considerable Blocks of Ashok Vihar. The matters related to respective RWAs are only taken when the concerned RWA fails to get the results despite sincere efforts at their end and then approaches Federation along with the supportive documents/correspondence.
What are the main areas of work of the Federation?

Works related to all the civic departments of MCD/DDA/DJB/TPDDL/PWD/CPWD for which it even goes to the Court for desired results. It also organizes PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS/HEALTH CHECK UP AND BLOOD DONATION CAMPS for the benefit of its residents. It also brings out USEFUL BOOKS AND DIRECTORIES OF RESIDENTS OF ENTIRE ASHOK VIHAR as and when demanded by the Residents.
