My Wellness Insights allows you to keep track of your wellbeing and record the things that may be affecting you, then reflect on this data to gain insights into cause and effect patterns.
Features:
- Keep a day-to-day record of your wellbeing and things that may affect you: Decide what you'd like to measure (mood, anxiety, energy, motivation, alcohol intake, appetite, etc) then start measuring it. The simple 'Create a Recordable' interface allows you to record any aspect of your wellbeing you can think of
- Reflect on your data: Use the Reflection Centre to look back on your data on a visual graph or as a diary-style summary to help you spot patterns between changes in your wellbeing and influencing factors
- Save visual Snapshots of your wellbeing: Email, text, or print a visual snapshot of your wellbeing over a set time period
- Create 'ToDo' and 'Avoid' Lists: Use the insights you gain to create in-app lists of 'things to do to keep me feeling well' and 'things to avoid'
- Generate reminders at set intervals: Timed Prompts can be set to regularly remind you to do the things that keep you well, or prompt you to record a specific aspect of your wellbeing at set times
- Nominate contacts as Supporters: You can select people from your device's contact list and add them as your Supporters, so they can be contacted quickly if needed
- PIN Protected: Set a PIN code to ensure your data remains private
Why it was developed
For the individual: Because every individual is unique, My Wellness Insights was developed to allow you to create and record the factors that are important to you. If you can think of it, you can measure it - for example, you may want to record how often you argue with your spouse, or the frequency of intrusive thoughts – the app makes it simple to set-up a new 'Recordable' for anything you like and begin tracking it.
As a self-help tool: Often it is the many apparently little things in our day to day lives that can have a dramatic impact on our wellbeing. My Wellness Insights encourages you to be your own personal scientist, gathering data about your day-to-day wellbeing and then reviewing it to spot patterns that may help inform changes to your lifestyle.
By trained counsellors: My Wellness Insights was developed by practicing counsellors who are members of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Through our work with clients and personal life experience we recognised the value of helping the person gain awareness of 'the everyday things' that help or hinder our wellbeing. We thought an app might be a good tool to facilitate this process.
Why use it?
Taking personal responsibility for your wellbeing and educating yourself about what works for you as an individual can be a key step in recovery from mental health difficulties. My Wellness Insights could be used as a self-help tool to supplement ongoing therapy / counselling, or as preparation for developing a full symptom identification and response plan, such as WRAP. This app does not offer any direct interpretation of your recorded data and is not intended for use as a diagnostic or therapeutic tool.
