The Elpas LoneProtect App turns a standard Android Smartphone into a “Smart Tag” in Eiris. This allows the holder of the phone to trigger alerts in Eiris using the app. The app reports its GPS location to Eiris and room location (when used with the Elpas Shield BLE tag). Eiris GeoFences are used to assign zone location from the GPS coordinates and alert if a tag enters into, or deviates from, a GeoFence boundary. Alerts may be initiated via the app’s screen or by pairing the app with an Elpas Shield BLE.

The Elpas Shield is an Elpas transmitter used by senior residents or staff members (who may be subject to attack) to signal an event to Eiris via the Elpas LoneProtect app. A Bluetooth signal is sent from the Elpas Shield to the user’s smartphone. The phone in turn relays these signals to the Eiris server via the Elpas Cloud to designated responders.
These products are specifically geared for lone workers, personal duress, access, room location and fall detection. The Shield aids seniors to "Age in Place," i.e., live out their lives at home and be continuously monitored without the need to move into an Assisted Living or Skilled Care Facility. For correctional officers or lone workers, the Shield provides immediate backup when things start to go wrong. In addition, the Shield features a new long range extended BLE range with intrinsically safe design that significantly extends the range of the Elpas LoneProtect application.

Functioning as a RF receiver, the Elpas LoneProtect app optimizes use of the Elpas Shield without the need for additional RF hardware infrastructure. Eiris Cloud and Geofence Reader extensions enable the use of Elpas LoneProtect. Eiris Cloud allows the connection to Eiris from outside the organization. Geofence Reader provides a virtual reader that provides the location.

To use Elpas LoneProtect, install the application on a smartphone. Once, the server name and login credentials are entered and the app successfully connects to Eiris, a SmartTag object is automatically added in Eiris as a new Badge.
Define Geofence objects by drawing a boundary line over a Google Map.
The badge can now be tracked indoors and out. Also, Trouble and Location alert may be defined as a function of location, badge group and status.
