Golf made its appearance in Verbier in 1969 with the opening of the ground Mills, 18 holes Par 3, located in the center of the resort. This "Pitch and Putt" does not arouse the enthusiasm of the area for golf. During his almost twenty years of operation, it has also emerged as a quality course and remains today for the golfer a unique and highly effective exercise for the development and control of the small stake.

In 1984 was created the Golf Club Verbier replacing the Approach Golf Club registered at the Swiss Golf Association since 1970. This club, whose goal was the construction of a new route, currently manages 36 holes Moulins (54) and Esserts (69).

The course Esserts was built in Verbier at 1,600 meters altitude. It dominates the area and offers all its holes, a stunning view of the magnificent mountains Combins, the Rogneux and Mont Blanc. The shuttle bus from the club takes players from the clubhouse to the driving range and the tee of hole number one. The particular design of the course was designed to make a physically very pleasant walk and accessible to golfers of all ages.

The distribution of 18 holes, imposed by the configuration of this area of 40 hectares, has enabled the realization of a very attractive course which meets the highest requirements golfing. The terrain is relatively short Esserts with fairways and spacious greens. The 18 holes are scattered with natural obstacles and are often cut by numerous streams.
