This application computes the vertical stress increment in a point located in the proximity of a rectangular shallow foundation supporting a vertical load. The point at a given depth can be positioned in any negative or positive coordinates. The App uses the superposition principle and divides the foundation into four virtual rectangles.

Normalised dimensions of each rectangle allow computing the influence factor. For any partial rectangle plotted to construct the actual footing, the point P must be below a corner of it. Sign of the influence factor will depend on whether the partial area is negative or positive to compose the foundation area.

Location of point P can be easily selected by touching in plot or by writing its coordinates in designated fields. Also, the user can choose the unit system.
