gi is the name of a music group from Bandung, Indonesia which carries the type of pop and rock music. This music group was formed by Armand Maulana and songwriter Dewa Budjana [1]. This group was established on March 22, 1994, with the initial format Aria Baron, Thomas Ramdhan, Ronald Fristianto, Dewa Budjana and Armand Maulana. GIGI first grew up on the initiative of Aria Baron, Thomas Ramadhan, Ronald Fristianto, Dewa Budjana, and Armand Maulana. It was March 22, 1994. There was a story that two years earlier, Dewa Budjana had saved the desire to form a band with two guitar players. This desire is realized by the formation of GIGI. Before joining the GIGI ranks, Baron (guitar), Thomas (bass), Ronald (drums), Budjana (guitar), and Armand (vocals) had previously crisscrossed the Indonesian music scene. The five of them plunged into the same creativity pool, where they had to cultivate creativity and harmonize musical styles. Reasoning and sense are not created immediately. The first album they gave birth to became a witness of how each personnel still played according to their own conscience. The color of the music they stretched is still not bright and clear.

Only one year of work GIGI has been hit by the first problem. After the release of the World (1995) album, Aria Baron decided to leave GIGI to continue her education in America, precisely when the band began to feel the fresh air of their hard work in composing music. The song "Promise" in the album successfully launched GIGI on the stage of the Indonesian music industry as a group that counted its existence and musicality.
