The Kaznet android application was developed by the Ona team of developers in conjunction with International Livestock Research Institute to solve the need of collecting accurate and timely market information from participants in remote areas. To be able to access the android application, participants need to have a Kaznet contributor account which is usually created by the administrators on the Kaznet web application. The Kaznet android application is integrated with both ODK Collect and the Ona platform such that participants can save and participate on the available tasks once they have installed ODK Collect and forms have been uploaded to the Kaznet Ona account. Each task is time stamped and GPS located. Once the forms have been finalized and submitted by the participants, the administrators review them. Then, the participants will be able to view the provided feedback on the android application as to whether their submissions were approved or rejected together with the payment information on the approved tasks. The payment differs depending on the complexity of the tasks and the time taken to complete the task. The android application is designed to function offline, this allows the tasks to be stored on the smartphones until the participants are in a location where there is WiFi or cellular network. Then, the submissions can be uploaded to the remote servers.

The Kaznet android application is powered by International Livestock Research Institute, a research center which is part of a global research partnership for a food-secure future.
