OBJECTIVES & GUIDELINES:

SomaliPN brings together Somali professionals, students and entrepreneurs who wish to see each other (and anyone they interact with) succeed.

This platform also provides a unique opportunity for its members to connect, engage and share valuable experiences, and knowledge with like-minded individuals with the purpose of mentoring each other in finding jobs, sharing experiences & market intelligence.

We encourage every Somali Entrepreneurs/Business Owners to utilize SPN platforms to promote their projects, solutions, products or services – UNDER THE CONDITION that they FIRST contribute and adding value to the group.

In order to sustain the quality of the group, we kindly ask every member to observe the below Guidelines:

1) “Zero Tolerance” on POLITICAL/QABIL discussions or posting contents related to it directly or indirectly – this includes irrelevant DEBATES on religious or social topics.

2) Introduce yourself briefly upon joining the group (Focus on professional background, your passion and how the group could support you). This is important as you never know who might find your professional background relevant and could assist, guide or connect with you.

3) Avoid direct/indirect commercial promotions, endorsements, funds raising for any cause or promoting other groups.

4) Since this group was created to support Somalis & those related to Somalis through Kinship, non-Somalis keen to add value and benefit from SPN are welcome to join. We also encourage sharing useful contents or jobs opening with non-Somalis outside the group as helping one another is not limited to nationalities.

5) Remain courteous at all times and refrain from engaging in needless debate on the main platform as you can always take conversation privately with the intended person.

6) Keep all your posts/messages relevant to the objective and aligned with the guidelines of this group as post that do not adhere will be removed unfortunately.

7) Update your LinkedIn profile or create one ASAP and join the LinkedIn group under the name “SomaliPN”.

8) Since the global business language is English, kindly keep all your posts in English. Should you wish to post in Somali or any other language, please provide a summary of your post in English so everyone can benefit.

Our passion for showcasing the Somali talent & connecting Somali Professional/Entrepreneurs and students is one of the main reasons for our existence. We hope this intention will drive all of us and help us to do all Somalis proud!

Finally, while the chapter teams exist to facilitate implementation of above guidelines, kindly be mindful that we all are volunteers with busy personal and professional schedules.

Thus we believe in collective ownership of this group where everyone feels responsible to be active and take initiatives so this group can fulfill its goals.
