1999 yil Ulug'bek Toshkent Davlat Sharqshunoslik institutiga tarix fakultetiga o'qishga kiradi. Institutda tahsil olib yurgan kezlari Ulug'bekning yoshligidagi orzularidan biri ushalgan. Bu ustozi Farruh Badalboev bilan tanishish edi. Ilk qo'shig'ini 2000 yilda "Tarona Records" studiyasida yozgan. Qo'shiq nomi "Bu alam" edi. Ustozi Farruh Badalboev bilan ko'p yillik mehnat orqali professional darajada ishlashni o'rgandi. Farruh Badalboevning Ulug'bekka ilk taqdimi "Yorim" taronasi bo'lgan. Bu tarona deyarli 9 oy davomida ishlangan.
Ulug'bek Rahmatullaev 2006 yil "Zamin FM" radiosi bosh muharriri Oybek Aliev bilan tanishgan va u inson sabab "Pan terra" studiyasi bilan ilk marotaba shartnoma tuzgan.
2007 yil 6-7 may kunlari Ulug'bek do'sti Sardor Rahimxon bilan Xalqlar do'stligi (hozirgi "Istiqlol") san'at saroyida "Yaqinlarimga" deb nomlangan konsert dasturini taqdim etgan.
2007 yil avgust oyida muhtaram Prezidentimiz Islom Abdug'anievich Karimov tomonidan yoshlarni qo'llab quvvatlash maqasadida ta'sis etilgan "Nihol" davlat mukofoti sovrindori bo'lgan. 2007 yil oxirida esa "M&TVA-2007" taqdimotida "Yilning eng yaxshi erkak xonandasi" va "Yilning eng yaxshi klipi" mukofotlari bilan taqdirlangan. Shuningdek, ko'plab boshqa mukofotlar sovrindori bo'lgan.
2010 yil 25 sentyabr sanasida "Kapalak" nomli ilk yakkaxon konsert dasturini taqdim etgan.
Shu o'tgan vaqt mobaynida 2006 yil "Sevma", 2008 yil "Sen ketding", 2010 yil esa "Kapalak" nomli audio albomlarini muxlislariga taqdim etgan. Undan tashqari "Yaqinlarimga" va "Kapalak" deb nomlangan konsert dasturlarining videolarini ham keng omma e'tiboriga tortiq etgan.
