* Description: As well as being a regular expression English-to-Cornish and Cornish-to-English offline dictionary, allowing users to search using pattern matching (e.g. for partial patterns within words), this apps also enables you to chat with up to ten robot friends in Cornish, and play dictionary word games with them. This app makes looking up a dictionary entry easy. Simply type in the term you wish to reference in the text box and then select the direction Cornish to English, or English to Cornish. Please note that this app requires permission granted to external storage permission in order to store the vocab lists to the external storage on the device. In addition to the preset topic-based vocabulary lists, you will also build up vocabulary lists as you use the dictionary search, which will reinforce the learning of new words. If the term is not in the dictionary, you can add it in yourself, so that it will show up in future searches. This app includes a desktop widget clock which provides the full date and time in Cornish. Just press it to directly access the dictionary from the desktop.
Chat with your new friends by selecting the Settings icon at the top-right corner, and then selecting the 'Enable Robochat' button. Please note that this Robochat is a purely in-app simulation, and no data is transferred outside of the app or storage on your device.
Once you have completed the 349 levels, you will have familiarised yourself with approximately 4300 words or terms. Once you have completed a level without any wrong answer, an animal may appear for that level
* MAU Cornish: Modern Accented Unified Cornish makes the correct pronunciation of Unified Cornish immediately accessible to the reader, by using the 42 letters (including double-letters), strictly pronounced as follows: a=ah, á=are, b=bee, ca=car, ce=sea, ch=chee, d=dee; dh=thee, e=eh, é=ay, è=air, eu=ioo, ey=aye, f=ef; g=ghee, gh=hhee, h=aitch, i=ee, j=jay, k=kay, l=el; m=em, n=en, o=or, ó=oh, ow=oo, òw=aow, p=pea; q=queue, r=arr, s=es, t=tee, th=eth, u=uh, ú=woo; ù=urr, ü=iuh, v=vee, w=we, x=eks, y=ih, z=zed. As a learning aid, these 42 letters can be sung to the tune of 'twinkle twinkle little star'. The only difference between MAUC and traditionally accented unified Cornish, are: 1) acute accents are used to represent long vowels instead of the horizontal macron, 2) the stressed monosyllabic e (pronounced 'air') is marked with the grave accent 'è', 3) 'ow' (pronounced 'oh' same as long 'o') is marked with the acute accent ó, 4) stressed 'ow' (pronounced 'aow') is marked with a grave accent 'òw', 5) ü (pronounced 'urr') is marked with a grave accent 'ù', and 6) the long y and dieresis y are replaced with the i. These changes make inputting instantly unequivocal phonetic UC on smart devices easy and convenient.
* Regular Expressions: Regular expressions (regex) can be used for word lookups, which means that if one is looking for a mutated term. Regex symbols such as '^' for line start, '$' for line end, can also be used. Similarly, 'friendship' will return the terms for 'friendship' and 'mutual friendship', but '^friendship' will return only the first. Therefore, if one is initially unable to find a word in the dictionary, it may be a good idea to try again, but leaving out the letters at the start and end. Once one has built up a list of forty terms, one can re-learn those terms in a fun vocab game.
* WriterHelper: Once you have earned 100 ladybirds, this app unlocks a built-in text input facility called WriterHelper, which also provides information on correct grammar usage.
* Desktop Widget: A desktop widget clock is included, which provides the full date and time in Cornish.
