Emeralds are rock bands originating from Indonesia, first formed in 1984 in Cimahi, West Java with the name Jamrock. The emerald since its formation was formed by Azis Mangasi Siagian (guitar), Ricky Teddy (bass) and Krisyanto (Vocals) and is known as a successful music group carrying rock music as popular music in Indonesia in the 1990s.
amrock is a music group that carries respected Rock music around the Bandung area. At that time they mostly performed songs from other rock music groups that had names. Their prestige increased when Krisyanto, Fitrah Alamsyah (guitar) and Sandhy Handoko (drums) joined Jamrock. [1] Krisyanto himself was awarded the title of Best Rock Vocalist in the Bandung rock festival.

Satisfied with carrying other people's songs, in 1995, Azis, Ricky, Krisyanto, Fitrah and Sandhy began writing their own song material and recording their demo. They offered the demo to the Log Zhelebour record label (commonly called Log) which gave a warm welcome. Jamrock then got a contract for recording and joined Log's record label, Logiss Records. With their entry into Log's record label, the name Jamrock was changed to Jamrud. The reason the name Jamrock was changed to Jamrud is because to avoid problems in the future and it feels more pleasant to hear.
