BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF THE 4 IMM MAZHAB

Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah is one of the four schools of thought. All Muslims in the world and their ulamas have acknowledged that the four Imams are Imam Hanafi, Imam Maliki, Imam Syafi'i and Imam Ahmad Ibn Hambal have fulfilled the requirements as Mujtahid. That is because of their knowledge, charity and morality. So the jurist said that Muslims must follow one of the four schools.

Hanafi school
Named Hanafi, because of its founder Imam Han Hanifa An-Nu'man bin Thabit. He was born in AD 80 in Kufa and died in 150 H. This school was known to the schools of Qiyas (reason) because the hadith that arrived in Iraq was small, so he used Qiyas a lot.
He is an intelligent, loving and expert scholar and is well versed in reading the Qur'an. He was offered to become a judge in the time of the last Umayyads, but he refused.
This school developed because it became a government school at the time of the Caliph Harun Al-Rashid. Then during the reign of Abu Ja'far Al-Manshur he was asked to return to become a Judge but he refused, and chose to trade, this school was born in Kufa.

Maliki School
Its founder was Al-Imam Maliki bin Anas Al-Ashbahy. He was born in Medina in 93 AH and died in 179 H. He was a hadith expert in Medina where the Prophet Muhammad lived in the city.
This school is known as the schools of Hadith Experts, and even he prioritized the actions of the experts of Medina rather than the Wahid Khabaril (the Hadith narrated by individuals). Because for him it is impossible for the Madinah expert to do something contrary to the actions of the Prophet, he focused more on the hadith, because according to him the actions of the Medina experts included the mutawatir hadith.
This school was born in Medina and then developed into other countries, especially Morocco. He was very respectful to the Messenger of Allah and love, so he never rode a camel in the city of Medina because of respect for the tomb of the Prophet.

Syafi'i Madzhab
The main character is Al-Imam Muhammad bin Idris As-Syafi'i Al-Quraisyi. He was born in Ghuzzah in 150 AH and died in Egypt in 204 H.
He studied with Imam Malik, known as Madzhabul Hadith, then he went to Iraq and learned from Iraqi scholars known as qiyas madzhabul. He endeavors to unite the integrated schools of qiyas and hadith schools. That is the specialty of the Syafi'i school.
Among the advantages of Ash-Syafi'i is that he memorizes the 7-year-old Al-Qur'an, is good at discussion and always stands out. This school was born in Egypt and then developed into other countries.

Hanbali school
Named Hanbali, because of its founder Al-Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal As-Syaebani, was born in Baghdad Th 164 and died Th 248 H. He was the most special disciple of Imam Syafi'i and never separated until Imam Syafi'i went to Egypt.
According to him the hadith dla'if can be used for acts that are afdal (fadlailul a'mal) not to determine the law. He did not acknowledge the existence of Ijma 'after friends because the scholars were very numerous and widespread.
