Light sensor which is usually called the Light Dependent Resistor or LDR. This light sensor also has several other names such as photo-resistors, photo-cells, photo-conductive cells, or photo-conductors. This sensor is a resistor, where this resistor has a resistance quantity that is affected by the intensity of the incoming light covering the surface. So it's possible to apply it to the switch to be automatic.

This LDR itself has an electric current that is affected by electromagnetic rays. In other words, if examined further, the principle or method of operation of this resistor is with photo-electron emissions or easily called electric photos. The way it works is quite simple. The electrons from the surface of the resistor will be released if the surface of the device is exposed to sunlight. In fact, this resistor is often used to measure the strength of a light on a camera or to issue sound from a film projector. Not only that, the LDR or resistor is also often used in solar batteries, or solar batteries where the application is on a watch or calculator and serves to hold energy from a collection of lights that illuminate it.

And now we come to how to install it into the light switch. For installation or installation itself is actually quite simple. Because basically there are only 3 cables contained in this resistor, namely the red cable which functions as a Load, then there is a white cable as common or neutral, and the last is a black cable that is used as a Line.
