The Hebrew alphabet is also known as aleph-bet, a word formed from the first two letters of this alphabet: the alef and the bet.

This alphabet is made up of 22 letters. It is important to note that in this alphabet there is no distinction between uppercase and lowercase letters. In general, there is only one form for each letter. An exception is the sofit letters, which are written differently when they occupy the last position of a word.

In addition, it is an alphabet without vowels. The speakers of this language do not need to write the vowels since they can be deduced from the rest of the letters. Even so, there is a scoring system called niqqud that helps determine the sound of vowels and consonants.

Technically the Hebrew alphabet is not an alphabet but an abyad. This is the term used to refer to those writing systems that do not have vowels. The fact that it has diacritic symbols (niqqud) to indicate the vowels makes it considered an impure abyad.

In this App you will learn, in addition to the Hebrew alphabet, the secrets that each letter that contains it will hide.
