Type-X was formed on September 10, 1995 (by the name of Head Master). Currently Type-X consists of 6 personnel namely Tresno Riadi (vocals), Micky (bass), Yoss (guitar), Arie Hardjo (drums), Billy (guitar), and Anto (trombone).
Type-X was formed in September 1995, originally the group used the Headmaster name as a band name, but they ended up choosing an X-type name because it made it easier for people to remember. This group consists of Tresno (Vocals), Micky (Bass), Yoss (Guitar), Billy (Guitar), Arie (Drum) and Anto (Trombone). At first they played outside group songs such as Voodoo Glow Skull, Operation Ivy & mighty bosstone, but eventually they replaced it with their own songs.

Music festivals to underground stages in Jakarta & surrounding areas they are selling out, they also once became one of the favorite champions of the Alternative Music Festival in Menteng in 1995. They finally made a number of song demos, then type-X took the initiative to send a demo song `Frustasi` to the Indosiar Expression program and aired. They also sent a Free Pusing demo to the Prambors IndieLapan radio program and were ranked fifth. after that stage offers increases.

When their created songs have been recorded around 10 songs, type-X also began trying to put the demo song on the major label. They want to offer the concept of the X-type version of SKA and the plan if it is not accepted, they will take the Indie Label road. They did not expect X-type music to finally penetrate into the recording industry at the beginning of the late 90s.

To improve the quality of the X-type debut album rearranging some of the songs they have made, at first they championed Frustration and Free Pusing songs, it turned out that Pops as the producer preferred the song Genit which was made suddenly. The debut of the X-type album entitled "SKA Phobia" was finally released in June 1999 and circulated in the market through the record label Pops Musik under Aquarius Musikindo as the distributor. Until now, type-x has released 6 albums, including: Ska Phobia 1999, They Never Understood 2001, Super Suprise 2003, Discography Black White 2005, Album the best A Journey 2007, and the Feeling Festival 2009 under the auspices of Michelin Records.

Armed with their sweet and bitter experience, Type-X has now released a new single entitled "Boyband" under the flag of OFFBEAT MUSIC INDONESIA as their label and management. This single is an opening single for their 7th album, SEVEN which was released in 2012 also by OFFBEAT MUSIC INDONESIA. Type-X hopes that their latest album can satisfy the longing for X-Friends (Type-X fans) throughout Indonesia.

First album
Ska Phobia was released in 1999 with singles Genit and Angan with the Pops label led by Dodo Abdullah. In this album there are 10 lists of songs with 3 songs in English. Sold more than 380,000 copies and this album was awarded 2 platinum.
