Created in 2004 in the city of São Paulo, the CAEM (Center for Support to Music Schools) was created to professionalize the Brazilian music education sector, with an emphasis on the free schools niche - a market that until then lacked practical Brazilian market. The entity is in front of businesswoman and musician Valéria Forte, who has more than 30 years of experience in the industry.

Through knowledge acquired as a teacher and creator of didactic material for music schools, in addition to the experience in the administrative and advisory area, Valéria Forte, since 2000 at the head of Editora Som, has launched an informative material directed to school owners of music.

This material (which began as an informative in 2004 and two years later became the No Tom Magazine) bimonthly, with free and exclusive distribution to school principals, was very well accepted in the middle. The magazine soon stood out for presenting a mix of themes that make the difference in the day to day of the music schools, from the classroom to the administration - always counting on interviews and articles of experts from different areas of knowledge. It was the kickoff to start connecting music schools from all over Brazil, to stimulate debates about the sector and, mainly, to begin to propose practical and accessible solutions for free schools. The acceptance was so great that in October 2005 was held the 1st National Meeting of Music Schools, an event created with the objective of offering lectures with topics relevant to the school market, in addition to providing direct interaction with the main companies in the sector and dialogues between schools across the country. The event grew and became an important part of the Brazilian musical education calendar. After nine editions, the National Encounter of Music Schools became a National Congress and today also has the participation of multidisciplinary teams of masters and doctors in music education offering free training throughout the two days of the event.

The work of CAEM does not stop there. In addition to the magazine No Tom and the National Congress, the organization promotes periodic meetings between its affiliates, visits to schools, online trainings and workshops, just to mention in some examples.
