Selawat in full form Shallallāhu 'alayhi wa as-sallām (Arabic: صلى الله عليه وسلم abbreviated SAW) is an expression spoken by Muslims every time they refer to the name of the Prophet Muhammad. [1] In any language it is a sign of great respect and appreciation. [1] This is also used every time you say someone else's name is seen as a great prophet (Isa, Moses, etc.). [2] Muslims say or write expressions to get blessings from Allah for Muhammad, and in turn, blessings for themselves.
