In this post, I am going to show you how to install Cable Checker on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Step By Step Guide To Install Cable Checker using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. Check cable size based on EMSD COP 2015, Voltage drop and Copper loss.
This app only considered the Ca, Cg, Ci, and Cd. It will calculate the cable size based on the protective device, voltage drop and copper loss. As the number of grouped cables, protective device current (In) and design current (Ib Will affect the result significant, I have highlight it in red in the input page.

If you need to check the fault current, it will provide a way to you but the let through energy I2t and the maximum fault current from upstream circuit shall be input by yourself. It is only a reference as the trip time will be different from different Brand of protective devices.

Calculation procedure:
1. Selection from the drop down menu and input one by one from Phase to Design Ib.
2. If you need to check the estimated fault current, you may press the cross icon on the right hand side of the "Need to check fault current". (It is only for reference)
3. Press the right corner menu as it has been hidden in right corner only a red bar shown.
4. After the menu shown, you may press the plus sign to see full menu.
5. First key is for calculating the result.
6. Second key is to move to input page.
7. Third key is to move to the result page.
8. The last key is the copyright page.

Note: you may use the radio button shown in right corner to change between the input page, result page and the copyright page.
