A city is a collection of different places - homes, offices, campuses, school, tourist destinations, bus stops and train stations, neighborhoods, and so on. With the mPlaces platform, apps for each of these can be created quickly, transforming the way we imagine, see and share our favourite places for work and play.

Creating an app for any place is simple and instant with mPlaces. And along with the app, we have included a suite of applications that help you create, store and share information about it. This platform can be instanced for any place in the world.

mPlaces consists of a suite of things that work together, namely :

1. Custom tiled maps that leverage Open Street Maps, hosted & rendered by Mapunity, which provide independence from third party paid maps. We also allow hosting of custom map data as layers or tiles. Maps are the canvas upon which information about places is created and shared.

2. Interfaces to collect data from sensing devices - Mapunity has partnered with several third party Internet of Things (IoT) enterprises and built sensor data interfaces based on open standards. This allows the Mapunity canvas application to consume device data from various devices and appropriately show it to the consumer.

3. A command center for monitoring and management - The web based command center allows a place administrator to administer the place more intelligently and efficiently. In a scenario where the deployment of solutions is multi-vendor, it becomes very important to be able to collect the information in a single place to make the right decisions. The platform will also facilitate scenario planning under different assumptions for data-based decision making.

4. Portal and Mobile App - A web portal and Android/iOS app that can be used by the stakeholders to know more about the place. Along with information on Events, Issues, Alerts related to that place.
