In this post, I am going to show you how to install Axolot Altimeter on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install Axolot Altimeter using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen

The altimeter requires a device with a barometer (pressure) sensor for best operation.

Altimeter with four different work modes to ensure that you always will have a altitude reading.
- GPS, when nothing else works (slow and inaccurate).
- Barometer. Very precise but can only measure relative altitudes. You can however set a start altitude to get an absolute reading.
- GPS and Barometer. Uses the GPS altitude when it has a good value. When not, the Barometer is used to calculate intermediate values.
- Airport and barometer. Usually the best option. Calibrates the Barometer with data from a nearby airport.

The barometer can be calibrated to compensated for manufacturing error. This only has to be done once.

The altimeter will not only show the altitude, it will also show your climb rate.

You can see the city address at your location.

Live history chart with option to save the track as CSV, GPX or Excel files. The track can be show on a map.

Save altimeter positions with location, address and altitude. The positions can be shown on a map.

Barometer with correct meteorological reading. Shows also change rate to give an indication on the forthcoming weather. It also has min and max indicators.
