This is an application created within the framework of the project LIFE RUPIS NAT / PT / 000855 "Conservation of Egyptian vulture and Bonelli's eagle in the Douro Valley", whose main objective is the conservation of threatened birds of prey in the environment of the Natural Parks of Arribes del Duero (Salamanca and Zamora, Spain) and the Douro International (Portugal). A cross-border project, co-financed by the European Union through LIFE funds, which started in July 2015 and will last for four years (2015-2019). In this period of time, it will carry out actions that increase the populations of Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus) and Bonelli's eagle (Aquila fasciata) by reducing its mortality and increasing reproductive success. The black vulture (Aegypius monachus) and the golden kite (Milvus milvus) are species that will also benefit from the project.

A joint work of nine Portuguese and Spanish organizations, which also provide their funding. Coordinated by SPEA, Sociedade Portuguesa for o Estudo das Aves, and with the Junta de Castilla y León, Natural Heritage Foundation of Castilla y León, ATNA. Associação Transumância e Natureza, Palombar, GNR / SEPNA Serviçio de Proteçao da Natureza of Republican National Guard, EDP Distribuição, Vulture Conservation Foundation and Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e Florestas as partners.

It is divided into six sections:

Identification key of raptors in the field, using their morphological characteristics: size, color, shape of wings and tail, to differentiate easily.

Guide of these species, exposing their morphological characteristics, migratory movements, feeding, nesting and global distribution and a photograph in flight of each of them.

Description of the main species of rock-dwelling birds that breed in the river canyons of the Duero River and its tributaries, differentiating them by their size: large, medium and small, and with illustrations to differentiate them.

Tips to know and enjoy birds, which facilitate the observation and identification of different species, through tools, behaviors and things to consider.

The RUPIS Life Project, where the data of the entities that develop it are offered, the scope of action, the timing, its main objectives and actions to carry them out.

The natural spaces of the International Douro, where the environmental and cultural values of the territory that encompasses the Portuguese and Spanish natural spaces that surround the border section of this river are described.
