The Community Alert System (C.A.S) is a mobile app designed to keep community members informed of local happenings and provide a tool for those community members to alert local officials of important issues.

Research shows an individual’s phones has become a very personal item. Most individuals look at their phones a minimum of 150 times a day. Additionally, a national epidemic of unwanted sales and “robo-calls” has been occurring resulting in citizens not answering their phones unless they know who is calling.

The Community Alert System (C.A.S) provides a solution to ensure information can be easily transmitted between users and officials by allowing for push notifications. Users simply download the free app from Android or IOS devices. They then register as a user. When registering they select their State, County, Town and classification (Government Official, Resident, Business Owner, Student, School Administrator, Clergy). Classifications are used to segment important messages when necessary.

The result is local officials now have the ability to send important “Flash Notifications” to the end users in their towns and can segment them by classification if necessary. Conversely, end users can report issues to their officials. Reports are classified three ways (Threats, Hazards and Nuisances). These reports are automatically pushed to local officials.

Also, incidents of substance abuse and suicides continue to increase and there is a built-in option for end users to get help when they request it.

To keep all users informed of local need there is a recent news feed that has written content and video, and includes news, weather and sports.

This is a unique mobile application that provides a valuable service to communities and regions.
