The tradition of Yasinan, Tahlil, Prayer in NUsantara

Tahlilan is a salvation ritual / ceremony carried out by some Muslims, mostly in Indonesia and possibly in Malaysia, to commemorate and pray for the deceased which is usually carried out on the first day of death until the seventh day, and subsequently carried out on the 40th day. 100, one year first, second, third and so on.

The present generation no longer feels the need and opportunity to carry out activities just like that. even if tahlilan is still held today, it is because every child must want his parents who died in heaven. as is known by all Muslims, that a pious child who prays for his parents is the dream of all people, therefore every parent wants his child to be a righteous person and pray for them. from here, the family prayed for the most, and some families felt happier if they prayed for their parents who were killed by more people (in congregation). then invited people to it, and presenting (almsgiving) just a small treat (for the rich) is not a strange thing, especially taboo, especially unclean. treats are only entitled to poor people, orphans, people with disabilities, people who have difficulties relating to respecting the guests they invite themselves and those who are entitled to almsgiving, namely: poor people, disabled people, orphans, the elderly. then, if there is a child who does not want or does not like to pray for his parents, then he (or his family) will not do it, and that does not result in syariat law. not makruh but unclean. a child like this must also be someone who doesn't want to be prayed for if he dies later.

This activity is not an obligatory activity. people can do it or not. tahlilan is not an obligation but heresy, and is a lie and making it up if this tahlilan is counted as harmony. tahlilan is a free choice for every person and family related to the desire to pray for their parents or not. tahlilan is also not an activity that must be held together in a funeral home and is therefore accused of burdening the host. the tahlilan prayed for the most and it could be done individually or in congregation, in the same place or everywhere. accusing tahlil as bid'ah is true and against the Muslim belief that a pious child who prays for his parents is the ideal of everyone.
