Sofiane Zermani (born July 21, 1986), better known under the name of Sofiane, is a French rapper. He is also known as Fianso, the verlan of Sofiane. Born in Saint-Denis, in Seine-Saint-Denis, in the northern suburbs of Paris, he lived in the nearby town of Stains until he was 13 when he moved to Blanc-Mesnil. [1] [2]

In 2011, he independently released the album Blacklist followed by Blacklist II in 2013. In 2016, he launched a series of videos entitled # JeSuisPasséChezSo inviting other less known rappers to participate. In November 2016, he signed with Capitol Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music France. In January 2017, he released "My City Cracked" starring Bakyl. The album # JeSuisPasséChezSo, same title as the previous series, culminated in the 2nd place of the SNEP, the list of French albums. The album was certified Platinum in May 2017 for having sold more than 100,000 copies abroad.

In May 2017, Sofiane released the album Bandit filth ("Filth bandit"), which was again certified platinum. For the video clip of the song "Toka" of the album, Sofiane and about 10 members of his team were in the middle of the A3 motorway, blocking cars, while Sofiane hit the song in front of cameras. The filming was done without a license. In February 2018, he was fined 1,500 euros and sentenced to four months' imprisonment for obstructing the movement. When sentencing, Sofiane apologized for his actions and said that the decision to film had come to him in a moment of "bad inspiration".
