Balthazard Formula used for calculating disability or concurrent sequels. It was devised by the French scientific and medical forensic Victor Balthazard (1872-1950), and part of the concept that the biological heritage for the first sequel is 100%, but not for the following.

For example, a person with two effects of 20 and 10 points respectively, the 1st sequel leaves a biological heritage 80%, on the 2nd sequel applies to subtract 10% to the 80% (8) and not 100% (10); those 8 points, added to the 20, yields a result of 28, compared with 30 of the arithmetic sum of its aftermath.

This application performs calculations as stipulated in Article 98 - Sequels Concurrentes- of Law 35/2015 of 22 September, to reform the system for the assessment of damages caused to people in traffic accidents. Therefore, as established in paragraph 3 of this Article, "If, at the time the calculations, decimal fractions are obtained, the result of each operation is rounded to the higher unity."
