The book is co-authored by Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, and renowned Massachusetts Senator and historian Henry Cabot Lodge. Comprised of true tales, the collection is written in the style of edifying fables, featuring venerable characters and valiant battles. This particular excerpt features the story of pioneer and frontiersman George Rogers Clark, who won the Northwest Territory beyond the Ohio River for the United States during the American Revolutionary War.
