She is syncretized with Our Lady of Charity or Virgin of Caridad de Cobre, patron saint of Cuba, and Our Lady of Aparecida, the patron saint of Brazil. Oshun is regarded as a highly benevolent Goddess, and wife of Shango. She is associated with yellow, gold, and amber.
