In this post, I am going to show you how to install Canadian Railway Signals on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Step By Step Guide To Install Canadian Railway Signals using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. Are you new to world of railroading or need to brush up on your signals for an upcoming review?

Signals is a great learning tool. With Signals you can perform what-if scenarios with various signal patterns. How would a signal definition be changed if a light was blinking instead of being on? What effect does adding or removing a letter plate have?

This utility handles all 129 valid light and letter plate combinations.

The following aspect combinations are included:
• Mast style with single, double and triple aspects.
• Staggered and non-staggered aspects.
• Single and double aspect dwarf signals.
• Letter plates (except double letter plate signals).

NOTE: CROR signal definitions apply to all Canadian Railway companies. Rail transit systems such as Go Transit may change the signal patterns and definitions to better suit their particular needs.

May 15/18:
- It seems like Android 8.0 has a small glitch and it no longer displays animated Gif's (which the app uses to show blinking signals). Hopefully Google will fix that glitch in the next OS update.
- To get around the glitch I've rewritten the mobile app to work in a browser. The web based version can be accessed at www.rcp.ca/cror
