Counting computing is the introduction to adding and subtracting for all children.
Thus, a child can get from 'counting all' to further computational strategies, it needs to evolve.
The child recognizes a number not just as a position on the number line (ordinal number term), but learned that the last number word indicates the number of quantity (cardinal number concept).
Only when a child has reached this stage it may also realize that a number is a quantity that can be decomposed into parts (part-whole relationship). "
