Not sure how long the current unpleasantness will continue, so this is an essentially infinite number of letter-replacement puzzles. You know, the sort of thing you find in newspapers, where you have to deduce which number corresponds to which letter. Think "codewords" if you read The Times, but without the crossing out.

So if you like that sort of thing, this is the sort of thing you'll love.

For a start, it's essentially infinite. It has a vocabulary of around 68,000 words, and both the grids and the words filling them are made from scratch whenever you start a new game.

Obviously, the constraints of the game mean that certain boards recur, as only certain ones fit, and some words work better than others, so tend to turn up more; but, even so, it's a fresh challenge with each new game.

In case it's too challenging, it helps you out a little, by giving you one letter when it starts, and sprinkling a few here and there without telling you what they are - you can also cheat by double-tapping the grid, at the cost of ten seconds on your time; but be warned, only those letters you've solved yourself will be saved if you move away from the app!

After all, it's not supposed to be too easy.

There's even a way to properly cheat - it started out as a bug in the program, but I rather like it, so I've left it in. Let me know if you find it!
