This application does not intend to replace a technical book, there are many excellent ones in bookshops.

Even less it can't replace for a "human" mountain guide able to face the unexpected and react according to his long lasting experience.

The application aims only to be an help to prepare your hike, choosing the step or steps you want to perform, according to their difficulty, or attractive landscapes: photographs are added here to let you anticipate their diversity and beauty (thanks to François Desjobert!)

Yet, various functions allow you, during the actual tour:

- to choose a language or change it

- to get infos and tips for the trail, its history, fauna or flora...

- to see and use the GR20 map (Google) when connection WIFI or 3G is available

- to locate yourself on the map

- to know the geo-coordinates of some selected point clicking anywhere on the map

- to know the distance you've travelled and how fast

- to enable / disable geolocation (energy intensive)

- to show / hide your own path

- to know distance which separates you from so desirable refuge after a day of sometimes exhausting march,

- What are the villages near your position
- Or, finally, the dangers listed for the moment!

But be careful not to rely solely on this kind of information: there are limits to the accuracy of GPS, and 3G, on the GR20, is not always accessible! - Embedded cards, in this case, can be activated but do not have the same degree of precision as those requiring a connection, WIFI or 3G.

In summary, consider this application as a complement; We hope you find it useful and enjoyable: nothing more.

Nothing less, we hope!
