Step By Step Guide To Install EP McGuffey Primer (Unreleased) using BlueStacks

Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.

This app teaches sight reading using the McGuffey Eclectic Primer. With no outside links, students move lesson to lesson, practicing the sight words and then reading them in the matching story.

A word is shown. The student can listen to the word to learn it or can say the word out loud and then click on it to check if they were correct. The words from the lesson are each introduced and then repeated in a random order a couple of times. A check mark appears after that allowing the student to leave the practice or to continue on as long as needed.

Once the check mark is clicked, the lesson will show all the words with a capital letter, since that's how sometimes they will appear. Each word is explained to make sure the student understood the word.

The child can come back to the words to practice or click to read the story.

The images from the Primer are included and the stories can all be listened to as well. Students are cheered when they read a lesson and are ready to move on.

The app remembers what lessons have been clicked on but can also be reset to start fresh with a new kid or so that mom can explore around before the child begins.

The words and stories have been slightly edited as they appear on the Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool website in order to modernize them a little bit and make them a little easier. Instead of watching the boys at play, the girls like to play too! My children had a hard time distinguishing between Ann and "and" which appear in the first two lessons. I switched Ann to Anna, not to modernize it, but to make it a little easier to hear and to say the difference.
