We all have an old smartphone in the drawer: at the cost of some coffees Fidus let you make a DIY complete home security and video surveillance system.

Fidus is an alarm and video surveillance system that can be installed on old unused low performance smartphones, controlled by the smartphone you carry with you every day.

When you leave home Fidus activates itself, turns off all the lights and starts to monitor your places via IP webcam.

Every half an hour Fidus takes a picture and makes it available on Google Drive: wherever you are, with a look at the last image taken, you can quickly check if everything is okay.

For a more in-depth check you can access with your smartphone the live view of the Fidus IP webcam, you can also hear the ambient sound and make your voice feel live, whoever is there will be able to hear you.

During the night Fidus activates an important and effective deterrent to intrusions by activating at random intervals some lights of the house and playing some music to simulate your presence or alertness. You can select which lights and music files are to be used and customize the simulation logic.

If an intrusion is detected, Fidus immediately records a video, sends a notification to you and all other authorized persons, and implements sound and light deterrents. The recorded videos are immediately available in Google Drive so you can immediately check what is happening.

When you come back home Fidus deactivates itself and, after sunset, turn on the lights you have chosen.

You can manually activate or deactivate Fidus when you want (e.g. go to bed and wake up), or you can let Fidus activate itself when your smartphone is no longer connected to the home Wi-Fi and deactivate itself when your network is detected again. In this way you will not have to worry about activating the system and turn off the lights when you leave home or deactivating the system and turn on the lights when you come back home. Thus, it will be pleasant and safer to return home not in dark, but with your house and the courtyard already lit.

All this is done by the Fidus (Server) app, the engine of the system, installed at home or in any other place you want to monitor. Fidus (Server), in addition to being the manager of the whole system, uses the camera of the smartphone in which it is installed for video surveillance of the room where is placed.

If you want other people to be able to control Fidus system, just install a Fidus (Client) app on their smartphone.

If you need to monitor further locations, in addition to the main room where is the smartphone with the Fidus(Server) app installed, you can use other old smartphones by installing the Fidus(Camera) app. These additional IP webcams will also be driven by the main app Fidus (Server) and can also be placed not only at your home, but even in your holiday home, in your office or wherever you need it, even on the other side of the globe.

Fidus uses your Wifi connection or the data connection of your smartphone, no SMS are used and no additional subscriptions are required, in addition to the one-time app purchase, there is no other costs to be considered.
