I've found the Time Calculator very useful. ie. Before takeoff - compare the dispatch vs FMS computed total flight times. If the wind forecast changes, early or late push, etc. you can easily compute the cost index that will get the desired landing time.
The UTC alarm is great for to remind you to contact Oceanic facilities, or just a reminder for yourself.
