A Spelling Bee Companion 2.0 on Windows Pc

Spelling Bee Companion is an app which simulates a Spelling Bee competition. Take it with you wherever you go and use it during any "down time" or no internet access to practice your words.

Want to prepare for a difficult Spelling Bee competition but no one has time to say the words aloud to you and check your spelling?

It now has ALL the words on the lists from the National Spelling Bee and many words that are off-list to study for when you are going to the National Bee in Wash DC.

It talks, you type.

Spelling Bee Companion speaks the words (using the computer speech voice your device has - usually Google's speech engine - we prefer the free IVONA Voice engine for almost human quality word pronunciation).

You can take it with you and use it wherever you go since it does NOT require WIFI or internet connection to play unlike other Spelling Bee Apps which must connect to online to get a good voice pronouncing a word. Practice when your parents are driving you here and there, practice when you are waiting after school, practice while on the bus or waiting for your ride, practice with headphones anywhere - you do not need to say anything aloud, so it is as quiet as texting a friend.

This SPEAKING Spelling Bee Companion simulates a spelling bee with "can I get a definition please" and "can you repeat the word please" functions --- even the familiar sounding bell for incorrect spellings.

This app will say a word out loud one at a time from the many pre-loaded lists (all grade levels) and will check your spelling on each when you are ready.

You type one letter at a time to spell out the word and hear each letter and then hit the "Check" button when you are ready.

If you miss the word, a familiar bell sound will ding and the word will be copied automatically to the "Missed Words" list and show in red on the screen. (Font size is adjustable too).
There are plenty of visual cues to indicate the letters typed so far and whether the spelling was correct or missed (red and green).

You can review and run a contest again just on the missed words, or save or rename the "Missed Words" list for review in any fashion you desire later.
(Lists can be saved and copied to and from your computer for other spelling study tools you may have).

Although there are programs like this for computers, we could not find any spelling App like this for Android devices to take on driving trips when no WIFI connection exists -- so we made one that has come in very handy to create the bee experience for any grade level.

Loaded with 5100 words plus more an be added if you import word lists from computer using "csv" format.

You can add or edit the lists, words, definitions, sentences, origins to suit.

The best thing about this app is that you can simulate a spelling bee at any time, whether you have people to help you or not at the moment.
