If you've been looking for a scoreboard app for your kids' or grand-kids' sports games, you've come to the right spot. Not every field, court, pitch, etc, has a scoreboard, so keep one right in your pocket instead. This app is designed to handle most sports scoring needs, so you shouldn't need more than one app to score all the different events your child plays. It helps you keep track of what period/quarter/inning/etc. you're in as well as the team possession; strikes, balls, outs; or "ball on", downs, "yards to go".
Simply by selecting the sport you're watching, you'll have access to different score keeping buttons. Most sports just have individual points for things, but basketball, football, and others have a variety of points for different goals, baskets, home runs, etc. Select "football" and you'll have buttons for +1, +3, and +6 for quickly getting the score right, while most other games still have +1, +2, and +3 buttons. Plus, there's always the -1 button, in case you fat finger the score and have to fix it.
You can use this app in portrait mode and have the Home or Guest score in front of you and swap with a single button, or use it in landscape mode to see both scores at the same time.
Since many sports lovers have large fingers, this app features large buttons. Large text makes it easy to glance down to see what the score is, and makes it easy for your neighbors to see it when they hover over your shoulder (especially if they are nosy parents of teammates). This even looks like a scoreboard with the large, red segmented numbers.
With the release of v3, you can now save your scores as well as transmit them to other people with this app. The connected online service (with a $10 monthly fee) will not only save the scores for your games, but you can schedule future games and other people (stuck at home/work or simply at a different game) can now follow the score by subscribing to the same game. This is real-time scoring, so as you update the score, it updates everywhere at the same time automatically. You can even set who is capable of changing the score by going to the website and setting up permissions.
Currently this is just an app, but there's a companion device planned for the future. In development right now is a companion physical, portable scoreboard which will connect to your mobile device via Bluetooth. When this comes out, you'll be able to keep score not just for yourself, but for the whole bleachers. No more people asking you the score, innings, outs, balls, downs, and all that, or simply invading your space to look at your phone or written notes.
This (near) future connected board (sold separately) will be made out of tough acrylic and be 10" tall by 24" wide, and will include all the stats this app shows: scores for both teams, possession, and all the other stuff. It will be lighted with multicolor LEDs, so you won't have the option of "just Red". Each team can have their own colors and you'll even be able to turn down the brightness for night games, but have plenty of brightness for day games.
This version of the app is already compatible with it, so when it becomes available, you'll just need to connect to it without having to update this app. I'll try to post a link on this page to purchase the physical scoreboard when it becomes available, so watch for the update to this app to get your board. Limited supplies will be available at a time, as they will be hand built right here in the US of A. We have more plans for the app and the physical board, but that would be getting ahead of ourselves to discuss them now.
Right now, there's only a few specific sports this app has customizations for. If you find that it's hard or just clumsy to keep track of scores, please contact us with the sport and some information you think is vital to making this app better. As we can, we'll make updates with your good suggestions.
