SimpleHttpTest is an app for benchmarking HTTP requests. It is designed to measure the latency and bandwidth of real world HTTP activity through a variety of different HTTP "profiles". Each of these profiles perform the same HTTP requests issued by actual apps (e.g., Tumblr, Pinterest) and web pages (e.g. Yahoo.com, NYTimes.com). There are also profiles for benchmarking HTTP requests of different sizes (served from Amazon S3).

It utilitzes android's HttpURLConnection and each profile can be run with different iterations and an optional delay between each iteration (e.g. to effect a cellular connection dormancy timeout). At the end of each run a csv file containing detailed information about the run is created and can be saved/emailed. Details include the elapsed time, bytes in, bytes out, errors, and more.
